It is absurd to me that the West continues to demand the removal of Assad in Syria. Was nothing learnt from the horror launched by the removal of Saddam Hussein and Gaddafi, evil men truly in their own rights, but none of our "bloody" business. Was Gaddafi worse than Robert Mugabe? We all know the answer.
Some will never be happy until Syria is utterly destroyed. It is as if some evil unseen hand is playing with the world as a checkerboard, an evil and vile game.
Russia is a civilised nation. It is cultured, sophisticated and educated. It has sent men into space and its people have written poetry and literature and music for the ages. It has the most beautiful city in the world of stunning architecture. It is Christian. Russia should be our ally, our friend in common cause against a common enemy.

Some 50 State Department officials have signed a memo calling on President Obama to launch air and missile strikes on the Damascus regime of Bashar Assad.
A “judicious use of stand-off and air weapons,” they claim, “would undergird and drive a more focused and hard-nosed U.S.-led diplomatic process.”
In brief, to strengthen the hand of our diplomats and show we mean business, we should start bombing and killing Syrian soldiers.
Yet Syria has not attacked us. And Congress has not declared war on Syria, or authorized an attack. Where do these State hawks think President Obama gets the authority to launch a war on Syria?
